Daniel’s debut in Musical Theatre 2014

National Operatic & Dramatic Association London Region
Society: Players 2 ~ Production: Lend Me a Tenor – the Musical
Date: 10th April 2014 ~Venue: Compass TheatreReport by: Tony Austin

The programme says that Daniel Benisty who played Tito Merelli had never been in a musical before, which I find almost unbelievable. A perfect grand manner and a glorious tenor delivering authentic Italian lyrics may have been used in recitals, but a wonderfully maintained Italian accent for his speaking voice, superb timing of lines, facial expressions to enhance every situation (plus the stirring of Max’s wineglass with his finger to copy what seemed to him a “strange American practice”), as well as chasing round in an Al Jolson costume during the second Act were something different. His Facciamo L’Amor, the quarrelling duet with his wife was superbly funny (thanks for the translation issued beforehand!) and his properly OTT send- up of body-loosening exercises in preparation for Max’s singing lesson was perfectly judged. Another brilliant performance.

Party Entertainment

“Daniel supplied the most amazing band for my 50th birthday at The Atrium by the House of Lords, he warmed things up nicely with a cocktail set then set the place on fire with 2 hours of rock n roll” – Lord Anthony St. John on the occasion of his birthday at the Atrium and House of Lords

The band played for my wedding and played Israeli music followed by swing/soul music. A BIG thank you from my husband and I to you and your band members for doing such a great job at our wedding. We loved the music and several people told us that they loved it too and asked us where we found you. Gaby has a beautiful voice and she was definitely the right choice. We are also impressed that you were able to play Auld Lang Syne when you had not done so as a band before. That went down very well. You are a very talented bunch to play so many different types of music.

My husband and I would like to say a huge thank you to the band for providing such fantastic entertainment at our wedding reception. Everyone said how amazing they were and the filled dance floor reflected this! We had to have more tables removed to create a bigger dance floor and make room for everyone on it! Every time we went to have a break, they would come out with another classic that would have us running back to the dance floor. What a brilliant night! We couldn’t have wished for a better band. They were very polite and friendly with a fun and positive attitude. We hope they enjoyed the evening as much as us and our guests. Thank you so much for making our wedding memorable and so much fun!

Daniel is a superb singer and band-leader. He really helped make our 30th Anniversary Party go with a swing! Wouldn’t hesitate to recommend him and look forward to hearing him and his band again.

James Able – 30th Anniversary Party, Forge, Camden
I just wanted to say a massive THANK YOU for all your help in finding the right band and coordinating with them to make mums party exactly what we wanted. The band were amazing and everyone loved everything they played!! They all looked and played so well. The Bond tunes were timed perfectly and really did make a huge impact on the evening. Equally the pianist upstairs was fantastic and really lovely to listen to during the welcome drinks. We didn’t get a chance to thank them personally because the evening flew by and before we knew it, it was over!! Please could you pass this email onto them and thank them so much for such a great evening.
